Conversations on Grieving Hope
Hi all!
I am so very excited to bring to you this month not one interview but five!!
Earlier this year, ELJ Editions published a GORGEOUS volume of five micro-chapbooks (for those not ensconced in the literary world—a micro-chapbook is a teeny tiny collection of, in this case, stories). The volume is called Grieving Hope and I had the great privilege and honor of editing it!
I am also honored and grateful to have had the opportunity to speak with each of these lovely authors about their work! Below you will find 5 short, recorded conversations—mimi-podcasts!
Thank you, Charlotte Hamrick, Kim Steutermann Rogers, Ronita Chattopadhyay, Kristina Tabor, and Janet Murie, for sharing you time and your wisdom with us!
I sincerely hope you will give these beautiful authors a listen!
You can also listen to them all read from their chapbooks here.
And you can order a copy of the volume here! You’ll be glad you did!!
Charlotte Hamrick Offset Melodies
Kim Steutermann Rogers Denatured: Stories of Change
Ronita Chattopadhyay Preparing to be Wrecked
(I recorded Ronita’s interview when I thought I would be transcribing our conversation, so the recording starts with a bit of an extraneous chat! We start getting into the meat around 30 seconds in!)
Kristina Tabor Memory’s Ebb
Janet Murie The Doctor
As always, I’d love to hear from you. Please write a comment or send me an email.
See you soon!
XOXOXO
Diane
Hi, Diane. I’m looking forward to listening to these messages.

Thank you, Greta! And so good to hear from you! I think you will love the mini-podcasts! These are beautiful, powerful, generous women of wisdom! Right up your alley!
Hello 👋 Diane I have to say this topic of grievance juxtaposing with hope is interesting. A result of loving people that we lost, or loving people who are lost, due to mental or physical illnesses & addictions, is tough. Perhaps it can help to heal from the pain by realizing & regulating our emotional intelligence. We have to play the hand we are dealt in life. In my humble opinion, it’s very important to put one foot in front of the other & soldier on. Even if it’s baby steps, forward. Life is full of sugar & salt, when I am tempted to wallow in my grief I turn to my gratitude list. Surely I allow & believe one needs to be saddened over a heartbreaking scenario. However, you can go there without living there… hence the HOPE = hold on pain ends ❤️
Dorothy! So very wonderful to hear from you! Thank you so much for your beautiful and powerful insights. “Go there without living there.” Wise words from a wise woman! ❤️
